Frequently asked questions.

What type of therapy do you offer?

At my core, I am a trauma informed therapist. I draw on many different kinds of therapy. I am also open to learning what uniquely works for you. Some of the modalities I most commonly use are Focusing Oriented Therapy, Ego State Therapy, the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model, Imago Therapy and Client Centred Therapy.

What is body-based therapy?

Am I going to make you do downward dog in session? No! I am still fundamentally a “talk therapist”, I just look for ways to bring the body into the conversation as well. I will often draw attention to your body in the therapy room and am creative, using different ways that work for you.

What can I expect in my first session?

During the first session, we complete an intake together. This means that I will likely ask you more questions than typical. Of course, it is always up to you how much you share. We will go through it together, at your own pace.

Do you have experience working with Queer-Identified or BIPOC Clients?

Yes! With our in-person office steps away from the Village, many individuals and couples who I work with are queer-identified. I try to be an ally in the true sense of the word, and have taken training on working with gender and sexual diversity to reflect this.

Whether working with shared identities or different, I always try to take a humble approach and allow the client to be the expert. This is particularly important when considering racial identity and it’s multiple ways of interfacing with the self and others. It is an honour to have someone trust me with their mental health, and I don’t take this experience lightly.

What payment types do you accept?

Currently I accept e-transfers through the Jane app. Many insurance companies will re-imburse for psychotherapy. I do not offer direct billing at this time but a receipt will be provided.
